Troy is the Program Outcomes and Impact Manager at USARA, and is an ally to the recovery community and a family member of people who are in long-term recovery.  Troy first connected with USARA in 2017 while working at the University of Utah, and has been a partner in program evaluation, grant writing, and recovery research ever since.

Troy holds a PhD in Health, Kinesiology, and Recreation, with a focus on outcome assessment and program quality improvement.  He has experience working with community-based nonprofit organizations, summer camps, substance use treatment programs, and local government agencies.  His research interests include increasing protective factors, building recovery capital, assessing community needs, and improving programs through the Principles of Implementation Science.

Troy enjoys spending time outdoors and believes in the healing power of nature.  His favorite activities include hiking on dirt, sliding through snow, planting trees, and running rivers.  Sharing these experiences with others puts a smile on his face and gladdens his heart.  He is excited to be a part of the team at USARA and is grateful for the opportunity to help improve the lives of others.
