John is a person in long-term recovery. His recovery journey began September 22, 2021 at the Adult Detention Center of Salt Lake City and continued onto First Step House. Prior to working at USARA, John was an arborist and still is a full time student at Salt Lake Community College earning a degree in Computer Science & Information Systems. 

John is grateful for all the resources and assistance he received throughout his recovery journey and wants to help others in the same way he was helped. John has incorporated health and wellness into his recovery and is an active member of Fit to Recover.

John is originally from New York where most of his childhood friends and family reside, but has decided to stay here in Utah and make Salt Lake City his home. John snowboards, takes powerlifting classes, hikes, reads, and climbs as hobbies.
